What is Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of conditions involving multiple systems:

Muscles - from muscle pulls and strains to bruising secondary to traumatic contacts, physiotherapy can help

Skeletal - all injuries related to bones, including but not limited to fractures, stress fractures, and joint injuries (ACL, Meniscus…)

Neurological - Nerves sometimes get compressed, stretched or torn. Needless to say nerves aren’t fans of either of these.

Vascular - Any injuries affecting blood flow and return to your organs and all tissues.

Neuromusculoskeletal - As injuries often involve multiple systems, physiotherapy takes a comprehensive approach, considering all major systems to provide the best advice.

Upon proper diagnosis, a physiotherapist collaborates with patients to formulate a personalized treatment plan.

The Endura Physio Advantage

At Endura Physio West Island, we believe in doing things differently.

First, we spend time with our patients, all appointments are 60-minutes long.

Second, we have a fitness room where we can directly treat and strengthen your muscles, joints, tendons, and bones. Above all, we aim to make you stronger than when you arrived. We will challenge you in every session and reassure you along the way. We want you to feel both independent and motivated in your rehabilitation journey. The ultimate goal is always to see you resume the activities you love the most.

Third, our space is a safe space. Recovering from injury is not easy and it can be a stressful journey. Our team is always there to support you and listen to you along the way.

Finally, we limit the use of passive modalities. We are in the business of getting you back to movement and that is where we focus our energy.

Physiotherapy Assessment and Follow-ups

During the initial physiotherapy consultation, your physiotherapist gathers information to thoroughly evaluate and diagnose your condition. Remember, we are a team and no one knows your story better than you. This is the best time to share your background, past injuries, sporting history and any other information in order to dress the best picture possible. From there, the healing journey truly begins. We elaborate a treatment based on your needs, constraints and commitments. We seek to treat injuries, but also re-integrate as much movement as possible into your lives.
