Some of our favorite local attractions

Parc-Nature du

Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard

Wooden boardwalk over serene lake with people walking, surrounded by autumn trees under cloudy sky.

By far our favorite spot on the island is the Parc Nature du Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard. It offers a beautiful network of walking and biking trails that takes us into the forrest and into two primary marshlands. Weather you are looking for a great place to bike, run, walk or even bird-watching make sure to visit.

If you prefer winter sports, be sure to check out the cross-country or fat biking trails come winter.

Golf Courses

scenic golf course with sand trap and pond, surrounded by trees and greenery under a blue sky

Île-Bizard is home to three golf courses, including Golf Saint-Raphael, Elm Ridge Country Club and last but not least Royal Montreal Golf Club. Fun fact, Royal Montreal Golf Club is actually the oldest golf club in North America. It was founded in 1873, and the Queen Victoria had to grant them the right to use the prefix “Royal” in 1884.

Cégep Gerald-Godin

Stone building with glass entrance on a campus, featuring a "G" banner on a pole and benches on a paved walkway.

Founded in 1999, Cégep Gérald-Godin is one of the newest CEGEPs in Quebec. It is named after Gérald Godin, a celebrated Quebec poet, journalist, and politician known for his role in the Quebec sovereignty movement and his tenure as Minister of Cultural Communities and Immigration. The college's campus is housed in the historic former Novitiate of the Holy Cross, blending its architectural heritage with modern educational facilities.

The Cegep is currently undertaking a major renovation to expand their sport complex, set to open in 2025 to the student and general population. Their sports teams “Les Gladiateurs” are sure to benefit greatly from these new facilities.
